6 Days Primate Escapade

Day 1: Arrival

On your arrival at Kigali Airport you will be met by our safari representative and transferred to your Hotel. Overnight at a Kigali hotel.

Day 2: Kigali City Tour- Kinigi

Kigali is set evergreen rolling hills. The sight is a good start for a Rwanda Safari. Visit the Genocide memorial center that tells you about the 1994 genocide. Photos and Catalogs, written accounts, videos show you how it all happened. The site was constructed in memory of a million people who perished while the whole world watched in a hundred days. More than a quarter million people have been buried here. There is a main historical exhibition, children’s memorial exhibition o comparative genocide named as wasted lives. Camp Kigali nearby is the where 10 Belgian berets were killed on the first day of the massacre.

After lunch you will proceed to Kinigi arriving late afternoon for dinner and overnight at lodge or camp.

Day 3: Kinigi-Parc National Des Volcans

Today we depart early after breakfast and head to Parc National des Volcans. We shall spend the day tracking this highland primate. No one Rwanda safari is complete without coming face to face with the primates.  Tracking the gorillas through the tropical mountain forest of the Virunga is exceptional. Tracking may take some time or the whole day. Muddy and rainy weather makes it more difficult. After tracking the gorillas, return to your lodge for lunch. Dinner and Overnight at your lodge or camp.

Day 4: Parc National des Volcans- Nyungwe National Park

Early breakfast we depart Parc National des Volcanos to Nyungwe Forest via Gisenyi to view Lake Kivu. Picnic Lunch enroute .Lake Kivu is safe for swimming and a wonderful tourist attraction. Proceed to Nyungwe for Dinner and Overnight.

Day 5: Nyungwe National Park(Chimpanzees tracking)

An early morning breakfast and we begin our day in quest of the chimpanzees and Colobus and L’hoest monkeys. Nyungwe forest is the only remaining mountain rain forest in Eastern and Central Africa, forest that is home to  more than 5 different primate species, including humankind’s closest living relative the chimpanzee. Picnic in the park. Nyungwe is also known for its prolific Bird life. Return late afternoon to relax at your lodge in wait for dinner and overnight.

6: Nyungwe- Kigali.

After breakfast leave for Kigali to arrive late afternoon, lunch at a city hotel. Afterwards a transfer  for your flight home.
