Some of the lodges are not in the parks but are situated at the borders of the park. This is one of the parks in Kenya for best spotting the leopard. In recent years however, The flamingos have moved to other lakes due to siltation. Farmers have encroached to the edges of the park and therefore a lot of erosion that brings the soil to the lake. This reduces the alkalinity of the lake sending the flamingos away.It is advisable to check with your agent about the current situation of the lake if you are looking for flamingos.
